Meet some of our outstanding AOAT graduates as we celebrate their achievements!
The teachers in AOAT provided many useful resources which prepared me for life after high school. An experience that I am forever grateful for was the internship during junior year. It introduced me to CSU Northridge, a college that I would be attending after graduation, connections in the design field, and it helped me become more confident as an individual.

Aside from the career preparation, the field trips, guest speakers, and other events opened a different perspective for me. The experiences and mentorship from teachers and classmates has shaped me to be the person I am today.

I don’t think I would have ever considered a career in the creative industry if it weren’t for the AOAT. Besides laying the foundation for my collegiate pursuits, the academy has provided me with life skills that have made post-graduate life easier.

”The program helped me expand my career opportunities by exposing me to different career fields, learning from professionals, and applying basic business practices. It promoted the idea of individuality and through art I was able to see the importance of leaving behind one’s mark in the form of contribution and relationships. Today, I still refer back to some of the skills and concepts I learned in the classroom.”

“AOAT gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and allow my creative mind to flourish. Through class projects, field trips, and Art Club meetings we were exposed to different means of art and technology within our communities. I will forever be grateful for the education I received that allowed me to continue in a creative field.”

“AOAT is where I first discovered I wanted to be a graphic designer. They taught me the tools & gave me many opportunities that allowed me to pursue it as a career.”

“AOAT gave me the tools I needed to imagine myself in college, something that because of the neighborhood I grew up in, wasn’t imaginable. Today I am a proud first generation college graduate of California State University of Northridge where I received my bachelors in History and Chicanos studies. Without the field trips to different college campuses and the mentorship of our AOAT teachers I wouldn’t have had the resources needed to apply, enter and graduate from college.”
